The Old Bridge or Zubi Zaharra and the Old Guild are some of the most charming places in Ondarroa. They are located in the old part of the town.
The Old Bridge joins the two banks of the River Artibai. A wooden bridge already existed in the 16th century, but the predecessor of the current bridge was built in 1795 in Romanesque style. In 1936, during the Civil War, it was badly damaged and in 1953, floods almost completely destroyed it. For all these reasons, today it is difficult to appreciate the structure of the old bridge on the current bridge.
The Fishermen’s Guild is located next to the Old Bridge. The architect Pedro Guimon designed it in 1920, but it still has a medieval appearance. Below the fishermen’s guild is the market square.
